Lopez Concert Volunteer Appreciation Potluck

Friday, Sep. 22, 2017, 5:00 pm

Admission: Free

Enjoy an ongoing slide show of images from the 2017 Lopez Concert events, capturing the work of volunteers from early morning to late at night.

The Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival on Lopez has faded into history, leaving rich memories of treasured encounters with Festival musicians, artists, food, historical background, an amazing composer of Earthrise, and the former astronaut whose stunning photograph of earth rising from behind the moon started the whole idea.

This very successful concert happened because of the many Lopez volunteers who pitched in and created the space for music and an appreciative audience, fed the audience and musicians, sold and collected tickets, passed out programs, created the historical retrospective of Lopez' role in the 20th Anniversary Season, and cleaned up two venues afterwards, Port Stanley Schoolhouse and Lopez Center.

Join us in celebrating the work of these volunteers at a potluck celebration, featuring photographic images of the 2017 Lopez concert volunteer photographers. Everyone who enjoyed this concert (and those who missed it when tickets sold out) is invited to this potluck! And let's not forget Donors and Sponsors-- it would not have gotten off the ground without you! Please bring your own place settings and food to share. Non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. RSVP to would be helpful in planning the number of tables and chairs needed. All who enjoyed the concert are invited.

Finally, let's give the hardworking volunteers a rest this time: please contact Micki Ryan at to volunteer for setup and cleanup, 4 PM and following the dinner at 7 PM, while you enjoy the food, the photographs, and some local music. Potluck starts at 5 PM, ends at 7 PM.
